Harold and his mother, Emma Pettit

At age 2, Harold fell down the stairs and hit his head on a bicycle rack
that lay on the stairs. He had a terrible dent in the back of his head.
This injury caused Harold never to mature mentally beyond the age of a six-year-old.
He always lived with his parents, and died within two years of his mother
who passed away in 1943.
