Later, the Pamona Freeway was built, and the property just behind the house became a deep
gorge cut through the hill. The house was razed and a restaurant built in its place.
Happily, the lovely old pepper tree was saved and graces the restaurant property.
Sometimes it's sad to see progress on such a beautiful piece of land.
