Exploration Lecturer, Captain Dick Magaldi

Captain Magaldi and his wife, we assume.

We failed to stop him for a photo op while in the dining room, so we did the next best thing, and stole this from his Web site, Key Largo Divers.

Captain Magaldi was another favorite. He conducted four lectures on the history of the Spanish Armada and the treasures they left buried in the coastal waters off the Southeastern U.S. when ships went down in storms. There were a lot of them.

This is his resumé as published the Rotterdam's Daily Program:

Founder of Key Largo Divers, Key Largo, Florida, Dick shares his 43 years of diving experience and historical research of ocean going vessels during the 15th and 16th centuries. His lecture Flagship forum series is complete with slides and artifacts from his personal collection. Dick shares his experiences with the laters under water technological advancements in locating shipwrecks.

He is a U.S. Coast Guard Certified Sea Captain, Certified Diver, retired Commander of the Miami Dade Police Department and former Adjunct Professor at Miami Dade Community College. He is a graduate of the University of Miami, and earned his M.S. degree from St. Thomas University.

Unfortunately, Airline security regulations has forced the Captain to leave most of the collection of artifacts that he once carried to his lectures at home. In lieu of those, though, he brought photos on his laptop computer that he projected on the screens in the showroom for us.
