Ribeira Grande, São Miguel Island

Day 8: Monday, April 18, 2005
As seen from the windows of a tour bus and the bridge.

Not all the townhouses were, well, houses.

Out of the bus and onto the bridge looking at the river.

Named for this river, Ribeira Grande, means Grand River in English.
The waves along this coast makes it seem appealing for surfboard riders.
We didn't get close enough to tell if there are sandy beaches to accompany the waves.
